Davide Torchia, the agent of Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, discussed his client’s future and how things have changed in Turin over the last few years.

The 29-year-old Italian defender has remained a part of Massimiliano Allegri’s squad and is expected to be handed a new contract in the coming months, having recently entered the last year of his current deal.

Rugani hardly made a splash for Juventus last season, seeing just 742 minutes of action across 11 total appearances. Despite that, he didn’t look for a move away in the summer transfer window.

Speaking to TuttoJuve.com, Torchia was first asked if he expected his client Rugani to spend over eight years attached to the Juventus first team.

“When you go to a club like Juventus, the goal is to be able to say you played for ten years in the team you were a fan of as a child.

“These are things you always say, even if it is difficult to imagine it beforehand. I can say that in these years, from 2010 onwards, it is difficult to stay at a club for so long, but in this case the goal is not so far away.”

He touched on how his client is doing in Turin in the early stages of the 2023-24 season.

“Daniele hardly goes into specific details, certainly what you can see is that there is not the same leadership of Italian players as there was years and years ago.

“The slightly older ones are trying to help the newcomers get to know Juventus better, to transmit the DNA of the club. It happened to him too when he arrived many years ago.”

Finally, Torchia provided an update on Rugani’s contract situation with Juventus.

“There has been no meeting with the club, at the moment there is only a rough idea. We’ll see if it can develop over the coming months.”

Since his initial arrive in 2015, Rugani has made 130 appearances across all competitions for Juventus, helping to win six Scudetti and two Coppa Italia titles.
