Roma defender Antonio Rudiger admits he “didn’t think Serie A was anything special” before he joined.
The German international signed for the Giallorossi from Stuttgart in the summer of 2015, and was surprised by the difficulty of the Italian top flight.
“Honestly, when I played in Germany I didn’t think Serie A was anything special,” Rudiger confessed, answering questions on Facebook.

“I also looked at its ranking compared to other Leagues. When I played my first matches here though I realised it wasn’t easy, teams are more tactically prepared than in the German League, where they rely more on physical strength.”
