Today is the first day of the Rudi Garcia era at Napoli, with the French coach ready to meet the squad and start working towards next season.

The 59-year-old was a surprise pick to replace Luciano Spalletti, with many fans concerned considering his recent departure from Saudi side Al Nassr, the home of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis had spent weeks considering a long list of possible replacements for Spalletti, who chose to step away from football for a year following his historic Scudetto success in the Campania capital.

As highlighted by Il Mattino via TMW, Garcia will introduce himself to the Napoli today at the Museo di Capodimonte, ready to start working with his new players in view of next season.

De Laurentiis chose the Frenchman because he’s reportedly not concerned about any comparisons with Spalletti and has promised to change as little as possible, even if the club lose Kim Min-Jae and Victor Osimhen this summer.
