Amir Rrahmani is due in for a medical assessment upon his return to Italy, having hobbled off with an injury after just 13 minute’s of Napoli’s Champions League group stage win over Braga on Wednesday night.

The Kosovan was forced off early with what appeared at the time to be some sort of muscular issue, with Rudi Garcia opting to replace him with Leo Ostigard rather than summer signing Natan.

Napoli stayed the night in Portugal on Wednesday and are due to return to Naples at some stage of Thursday afternoon.

According to recent reports from Tuttomercatoweb, Rrahmani is almost guaranteed to be ruled out of Sunday evening’s visit to Bologna in Serie A.

The Italian outlet notes that Garcia is likely to go again with a pairing of Ostigard and Juan Jesus at centre-back, despite a shaky performance in Europe midweek. Kick-off at the Dall’Ara is set for 17.00 UK time.
