Palermo’s Federico Balzaretti expects Delio Rossi to be a success at Fiorentina following his appointment on Monday.
Balzaretti knows the tactician well after their time together at the Stadio Barbera before Rossi quit at the end of last season.
“He took over at Palermo once the season had already kicked off and he got us some great results,” the left-back told the Corriere dello Sport.
“I’m convinced that he’ll be able to do the same in Florence, especially as Fiorentina are an excellent team.”
Rossi was linked with various clubs after his decision to leave Sicily, but he’s had to wait until November to get a job he was interested in.
“I’m happy that Rossi is back on a bench,” the Italian international added. “I really respect him and he’s a great Coach.
“He was an important figure in my footballing life and I still keep in touch with him. I remember his work and the quality of his staff with fondness.”
