Delio Rossi hopes Fiorentina can repeat the performance that conquered Milan when facing Roma on Sunday. “We need another perfect game.”

The Viola are hovering just three points above the relegation zone, yet last week managed to earn a shock 2-1 victory at San Siro.

“Roma will be particularly eager to make up for their 3-0 defeat in Florence earlier this season, but we need another perfect game that can repeat the performance at San Siro. Obviously, on top of that we need a little good fortune,” said the Coach.

“Roma finished off one era and opened up another, but it takes time, especially with a new tactician to Serie A. The problem in Italy is that everyone wants it all straight away. I worked in Rome until a few months ago and it is not an easy environment to work in,” added the former Lazio boss.

Florence is also becoming an extremely tense city for the squad, who now play better on their travels when the home fans aren’t protesting.

“I don’t see this issue and I’d always want to play at home. There are a few players who perhaps suffer the pressure of the home fans, but we are talking about stupid excuses.

“We have to race against ourselves and not the other clubs. If we do not pick up the points we need to achieve safety, then we’ll deserve what happens… We can escape from this situation, as we have the quality and our fate is in our hands.”

Amauri is suspended, so Adem Ljajic should partner Stevan Jovetic in attack on Sunday evening.
