Fiorentina have updated on Giuseppe Rossi and confirmed he is due to start the second phase of his recovery back in Florence a week today.

Club doctor Paolo Manetti has today announced the next stage of the process in the player’s recovery from knee surgery undergone at the start of the season.

“After resting in the first phase, from the 12th week onwards, which means on November 20, we’ll be able to start the central phase of his rehabilitation,” Manetti told Fiorentina official website.

“Rossi will be back here in Florence, but he won’t immediately undergo workloads on the pitch and he won’t run. We’ll rather work a lot on the muscle tone and on the joints.

“Then towards the Christmas holidays there will be another check with the specialist who, at that stage, will prescribe the rehabilitation on the pitch and that will be the final stage of his recovery.”

Manetti also reiterated that Federico Bernardeschi, who injured his ankle in training at the start of this month, will take five months to fully recover.
