With a different surgeon to last time, Giuseppe Rossi will undergo an operation on Friday in the US on his latest knee ligament injury.

The Italy striker has been ruled out of Euro 2012 this summer after re-injuring the same right knee ligaments last week in training that he first damaged last October.

His agent described the injury as resulting from a ‘banal incident’ and suggested that the quality of the surgery the first time around had not been up to scratch for the joint to have still been so weak.

Subsequently and as Mundo Deportivo report, Rossi has changed surgeons and for tomorrow’s procedure, will find himself under the knife of famous knee surgeon Dr Richard Steadman. The striker is still set for a six-month recovery period.
