Italy legend Paolo Rossi believes Nikola Kalinic’s selflessness makes him a better striker than Milan’s Carlos Bacca.
Kalinic and Bacca enjoyed prolific debut campaigns with Fiorentina and Milan respectively last season, but Rossi – a former striker himself, of course – admits he is a bigger fan of attackers who do their bit for the team as opposed to simply “playing for goals”.

Kalinic and Bacca enjoyed prolific debut campaigns with Fiorentina and Milan respectively last season, but Rossi – a former striker himself, of course – admits he is a bigger fan of attackers who do their bit for the team as opposed to simply “playing for goals”.
“Kalinic? I love him because he’s a modern forward that plays effectively and approaches the goal,” the 1982 World Cup hero told Radio Bruno Toscana.
“Between him and Bacca, I always choose the former: we’re talking about the one who participates in build-up play and another who only plays for goals.
“Personally I prefer those who play for the team, so that’s why I prefer the Croatian.
“Babacar is a young striker to keep an eye on, without doubt, but he must become more refined and understand which moves are his best.
“My Rossi namesake? At Parma he impressed me a lot, but injuries have undermined his development. He could’ve been a great champion”.
