Coach Delio Rossi characterises Bologna as 'studying to become a good Serie A team' and is wary of the upcoming game against Sassuolo.

The Felsinei lost their opener against Rossi's former team Lazio, but they have a more accessible game to come back tomorrow against the Neroverdi.

“In Rome, against Lazio, I'd have liked some greater initiative from the boys, especially at the beginning,” he told Tuttobolognaweb.it.

“A little more grit wouldn't have hurt. It's true, it was our debut and we had a strong team before us who had played the Champions League play-offs.

“I'll say this again, my only reproach to the team regarding Saturday's game is a note on their character. They should have shown it earlier.

“Against Sassuolo, Bologna won't look very different than it did in Rome.

“At this moment I can't perform many calculations. We have to take to the pitch to win and pick up points.

“[Daniele] Gastaldello instead of [Marios] Oikonomou? That's improbable, in fact it's impossible. Gastaldello is still not in condition.

“Sassuolo in the last few years acquired experience and consolidated their position.

“In this transfer market campaign they added two or three players to a system that had already been tested.

“Their victory against Napoli did not surprise me. Serie A is full of good teams.

“We're studying how to become a good team.”

Rossi was then asked whether he intended to field new signing Godfred Donsah, who joined his team on a loan from Cagliari.

“Donsah needs to work, to find his footing here and to get in line with the group. He's only been here four days.

“I'm evaluating whether to field him from the beginning or have him on the bench. I'll think about it in these last few hours.

“He's a very young player who needs to be shown the way. These foreign players have a natural need to absorb the environment.

“We still need to have patience. Palermo for instance were smart to wait two years for [Paulo] Dybala's maturation, and we all saw how that ended.

“I don't have to say anything to the supporters because they already know that we'll give it all for the colours of this city and for the symbol of the team.

“The supporters care even more than we do that the team should be worthy of its name.

“My job will be to try and make them proud. During the Serie B play-offs they did their part wonderfully, now it's our turn.”

Bologna squad for Sassuolo: Da Costa, Mirante, Stojanovic; Ceccarelli, Ferrari, Maietta, Masina, Mbaye, Morleo, Rossettini; Crimi, Crisetig, Diawara, Donsah, Pulgar, Silvestro; Acquafresca, Brienza, Destro, Falco, Mancosu
