"You can't freshen up a squad like Inter's with players like Luc Castaignos and Ricky Alvarez," the former Juventus” data-scaytid=”3″>Juventus forward, top scorer at Spain '82, told Sky Sport Italia.

"You can't get back to being competitive with players of that nature.

"It's evident that Inter's principal players are not delivering the performances which they had assured over previous seasons.

"And let us not forget that Inter let go of Samuel Eto'o in the summer, a player of reference to the side who could often resolve the outcome of a game."

The Cameroon international was sold for almost €30m to Russian club Anzhi. The Italian outfit replaced him by bringing in Diego Forlan, currently injured, and Mauro Zarate.
