Rossi is expected to be fully recovered in time for next season, and there are signs of optimism as he played in a charity match yesterday.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Rossi captained the American team for the 'Showdown in Chinatown' charity event organised by former NBA star Steve Nash and former boxer Venanzio Ciampa.
Rossi's side played against an international team captained by Alex Del Piero.
Both eight-player teams included several basketball players and the final result was 8-5 in favour of Rossi's squad, with the Viola striker netting a hat-trick.
“I am ready for the training camp in Moena with a view to playing a strong opening to the season,” he said after the game, as reported by La Gazzetta.
“I am looking forward to a campaign without injuries, in which I can play a great championship.”
