Referee Roberto Rosetti assures “there’s no turning back” now that VAR has been introduced in Serie A, but “we’re aware of the limitations.”
The Video Assistant Referee technology was introduced this season and has already been used multiple times, but not without controversy.
“There’s no turning back now,” Rosetti told news agency Ansa at the Hackathon event in Trento.
He is the man responsible for implementing the VAR project in Italian football.

“We know everything and are well aware of the limitations and existing problems. We know that some mistakes have been made.
“On the other hand, we’ve only been using VAR for two months and it’s natural to need some time for adjustments. In other countries, the technique is more mature and VAR works better.”
