According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Cristiano Ronaldo is tempted by a potential return to Manchester United and is willing to take a pay cut to play with the Red Devils again.

The contract of the Portuguese star expires in June 2022, but the paper reports Ronaldo is considering leaving Juventus as the season hasn’t gone as planned.

The Old Lady are also in financial troubles, which is the main reason they decided to launch a Super League along with some of the most storied clubs in Europe, but the project lasted just 48 hours.

La Gazzetta dello Sport points out Solskjaer has recently admitted he would like to see Cristiano Ronaldo return to the red side of Manchester, while Real Madrid President Florentino Perez played down rumours of a possible return to Madrid.

Ronaldo is on a €31m-a-year deal at Juventus and needs to take a pay cut to return to Manchester United 12 years after his exit.

The reports suggest the 36-year-old would accept to take a pay cut to return to Old Trafford but wouldn’t accept a salary below €20m-a-year.

Juventus need at least €29m from the Portuguese’s sale and would be willing to swap CR7 with Paul Pogba, although the Red Devils don’t seem open to completing such a deal.
