Cristiano Ronaldo is totally focused on the World Cup play-offs with Portugal and insists his side has the ‘utmost respect for the opponents we will face.’

Italy could find Ronaldo’s Portugal in the World Cup play-offs Final on March 29. The Azzurri will host North Macedonia at the Renzo Barbera stadium in Palermo tomorrow and, if they win, they’ll meet Portugal or Turkey in the Final which will be played away from home.

Roberto Mancini has urged the Azzurri to only focus on the match against North Macedonia, an opponent that should not be underestimated. The odds are all in favour of the Azzurri and Portugal and many expect them to see a play-off Final between the European champions and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Portugal have begun their training sessions ahead of their match with Turkey which will also kick off tomorrow at 19.45 UK time. Ronaldo has shared a social media message to warn all Portugal’s opponents.

“Total focus on the 2022 World Cup,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Proud, as always, to represent Portugal. We know that the path will not be easy, we have the utmost respect for the opponents we will face and who share the same goals as us. But together, we will fight to put Portugal in its rightful place. Let’s do it!”

Ronaldo has won one international trophy with his country and scored 101 goals in 134 games during his three-year spell at Juventus where he played with Italy veterans Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.
