According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed he will stay at Juventus while his agent Jorge Mendes is pushing for a one-year contract extension.

Ronaldo’s contract at the Allianz Stadium expires in June 2022 and his future in Turin appeared to be in doubt after the end of 2020-21.

PSG and Manchester United were reportedly interested in welcoming his services, although they made clear they could not match his current €31m-a-year wages.

Neither Juventus nor Ronaldo have received official offers yet. Therefore the 36-year-old seems destined to stay at the club, at least until the end of the season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Real Madrid star has informed his club that he will return to Continassa on July 25 to begin the pre-season.

Ronaldo is currently on holiday after EURO 2020, while Max Allegri began his second stint as Juventus coach two days ago.

The pink paper reports Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is pushing for a one-year contract extension, but Juventus haven’t discussed it yet.

The two parties may enter talks regarding extending Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract when Juventus President Andrea Agnelli returns from holidays.
