They are closely-matched on the pitch, but La Stampa newspaper outlined how very different they are off it, with the Old Lady’s finances dwarfing those of their rivals.
The biggest gap can be seen in the wages of the players, as Cristiano Ronaldo alone earns €31m per season net.
In comparison, the highest earner at Atalanta is Duvan Zapata on €1.8m.
If we take the gross sum – before taxes – into account, then Atalanta’s entire squad wage bill is less than what Juve set aside to pay Ronaldo in a single year.
The total Juve squad salary gross sum is €236m, more than five times the Atalanta figure of €42.6m.
This is all reflected in their balance sheets, as although Juventus have €406.8m in revenue compared to Atalanta’s €149.9m, La Dea run at a profit of €26.4m and Juve lost €89.7m last year.
