Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo said he continues to silence the critics after Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini’s comments about his farewell. ‘I win everything, so am I going to be worried about the people who say bad things about me?’

Juventus duo Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci recently commented on Ronaldo’s farewell this summer and the Italy captain was especially critical of the timing of the move.

Chiellini: ‘Ronaldo needed team to play for him’

Chiellini said Ronaldo’s move to Manchester United ‘shocked’ the system at Juventus, while Bonucci called for a ‘pre-CR7 spirit’ at the Allianz Stadium, claiming the Bianconeri ‘subconsciously served’ the Portugal captain.

Ronaldo spoke to Sky Sports UK about the critique and revealed he ‘sleeps well at night’ and vowed to continue to silence the critics.

“I know when the team needs my help defensively. But my role in the club is to win, help the team to win and to score goals – it’s part of my job,” Ronaldo told Sky Sports UK.

“The people who don’t want to see that is because they don’t like me but to be honest, I’m 36, I win everything so am I going to be worried about the people who say bad things about me? I sleep good at night. I go to my bed with my conscience very good. Keep going with that because I will still close mouths and win things.

“Criticism is always part of the business. I’m not worried about that. And I see it as a good thing to be honest. If they worry about me or they speak about me, it’s because they know my potential and value in football still. So it’s good. I’ll give you an example: if you’re in a school and you’re the best student, you ask the worst student if he likes the best, they’ll say they don’t like him.”

Ronaldo left Juventus with two Scudetti, one Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana, scoring 101 goals in 134 competitive games with the Bianconeri.

He has continued to add to his tally at Manchester United, with six goals in eight games since returning to Old Trafford.

  1. “‘I win everything” says everything you need to know about the person and player, both extremely driven and selfish in nature.

Chiellini and Bonucci were spot on in their comments earlier this week.

And Ronaldo still didn’t address the poor timing of the move which stitched up the club and their summer transfer window and team rebuild.

  2. Can Football Italia stop publishing this masalafied BS and move on? Sheesh this website sounds more and more like the SUN or Bild…

  3. The guy Wong everything but was unable to help the team win Champions league, The ONLY reason he was bought in the first place!

  4. Do you think he cares about Juventus? Good luck to Manchester, the coach will get fired and team will be in disarray. But hey he will score goals and it won’t be his fault

  5. Hahaha….he won CL at MU and Madrid….why he didn’t in Juve?
    Is this his mistake?
Every player has their own weaknesses, it is either tbe team works for the team or the team works for the player to win their goal. Juve knew this before they bought him.
To be fair, he still banging goal the same way he did at MU and Madrid with a catenaccio league, and even now that he’s back at MU
Frankly it is the team that let him down.
Juve hasn’t win with Chiellini and Bonucci, even in Ronaldo’s era. So, who do you think the problem was, Il capitano?

  6. What he was and what he is is 2 different things. Now he is just a selfish self serving disruption to what ever team he is on. Good bye

  7. @Ranajaya…it is definitely ronaldos fault that juve played as badly as the did when he was there. Before him the played like a team and won 7 scudetti in a row. When he joined juve started to play for him, because his is a selfish diva who cries like a child when he doesn’t get his way. He would rather lose alone then win as part of a team. It was a sad day when he signed for juve and I’m so glad that he left. Juve are now finding their way back and it is beautiful to see. ronaldo, may you never win anything ever again and may the world forget you ever existed.

  8. CR7 has done pretty well for juventus, It’s a shame to say the presence of one man dropped tenacity and determination of the whole team. it means ronaldo is bigger than the whole juve team
you can’t rely on one man to deliver champions league, It’s a collective display of quality on the field. appreciate his achievements. Fonza milan

  9. As usual BS journalism at its best especially from These Italian journalist that keep writing about this useless player and hi useless wins. For a change whu not write the truth how he is a failure to teams and country. Other then goals which half ar ein questions and FIFA propping this player along with other failures like Mbappe, Messi etc. Hey i have an idea journalist as you call yourselves, perform real journalism and write about the underrated players throughout Italy and the reason why money and politics will not let them succeed along with the corruption the Italian government and owners suppressing Seria A and all of Italy. Where are the Pino Maniacci’s of Italy.

  10. But who cares?!? Why are we being subjected to Ronaldo stories at all. He left, thank god he left.
    Please stop writing this nonsense.
Let him and us be. He’s over at Utd and ruining them, doing a great job might I add.
