“The charges were not dropped– the state case was dismissed by us because we filed the identical claims in federal court due to federal court's rules on serving foreigners,” Mayorga’s lawyer, Leslie Mark Stovall, told ESPN FC.
“We basically just switched venues, but the claims remain.”
There had been rumours Juventus did not organise pre-season friendlies in America to avoid Ronaldo being served with the papers.
Las Vegas police have also confirmed their investigation of the allegations from 2009 remains open.
