Cristiano Ronaldo has now entered the final stages of his legal battle with Juventus regarding €19.5m in allegedly unpaid wages.

The Portuguese star has been in a legal dispute with the Bianconeri since September of last year, after requesting his lawyers pursue action against the club regarding circa €19.5m in unpaid deferred wages, which date back to the club’s ‘salary manoeuvre’ in the 2020-21 season.

Ronaldo legal battle

Ronaldo has continued to request the deferred salary payments after leaving Juventus, but the club have no intention of paying, confident that they have no need to do so.

When the Portuguese forward left the club for Manchester United in August 2021, part of his agreed exit was a signed document confirming the Old Lady owed him nothing. Crucially, he never put pen to paper on the agreement to defer his salary back in the 2020-21 season.

Tuttosport via TMW details how Ronaldo and his lawyers have taken the case to the Arbitration Panel and are awaiting a response by April 22nd at the latest, although a ruling could be made as early as next week. Juventus maintain confidence in their behaviour and feel his ‘claims are unfounded’.
