Cristiano Ronaldo has given the thumbs up to Juventus directors in their bid to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United, claims The Mirror.

According to the British newspaper, Juve are aiming to sign the Frenchman for a second time, either in January or next summer, a plan which earned the approval of the Portuguese forward.

Pogba is currently out until December with an ankle injury, but this won't deter both Juve and Real Madrid from making an attempt to sign him.

The Frenchman has continually been linked to a return to Juve from the moment he left in 2016. Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane had placed Pogba at the top of his shopping list last summer, but a deal couldn't be orchestrated.

United value Pogba at around €180m, and if they were to finally let Pogba go, they would use the funds to buy Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho and Red Bull Salzburg's Erling Braut Haaland.

Pogba made 178 appearances and scored 34 goals in all competitions for Juve, having arrived as a free agent from Manchester United in 2012.
