Former Milan and Barcelona star Ronaldinho has confirmed that he will retire from football next year and hinted at a future in music.

Ronaldinho has been without a club since leaving Fluminense last year and was recently the subject of false links with Serie A new boys Pescara, and the 36-year-old admits the end is nigh for him on a football pitch.

“I’m old. I’m 36 years old, I’m not 26 anymore and I’m looking at what I want to do when I finish my career,” he told Sport.

“The idea is to play for another year. I’m involved in new projects, related to music and football. As you know, they’re my two great passions.

“It was a dream life. I won everything. It’s impossible to choose a [specific] moment.”

Ronaldinho scored 26 goals and assisted a further 31 in 95 appearances for Milan between 2008 and 2011, playing enough games in his final half-season for a Scudetto medal.
