Genoa have confirmed that Lazio are in talks to sign versatile midfielder Romulo.

Romulo only joined Genoa from Verona last summer and has been a regular for the Rossoblu this season, but sporting director Giorgio Perinetti admits the Italo-Brazilian could be on his way to Lazio.

He told numero-diez.com: “It’s true that we're discussing Romulo’s future right now. We’re talking to the Biancocelesti right now.”

The 31-year-old, who was born in Brazil but pulled out of Italy’s 2014 World Cup with injury, can play in central midfield or down the right.

He would seemingly join the Aquile as a right-back, given their month-long search for a reinforcement in the position.
