Cristian Romero has reportedly agreed personal terms with Tottenham and Atalanta consider Sven Botman and Merih Demiral as possible replacements for the Argentinean defender. Here’s what we know so far about the deal.

According to Sky Sport Italia correspondent Fabrizio Romano, Romero has already agreed personal terms with Spurs, but the two parties have not shaken hands on the Argentinean’s transfer fee.

Report: Romero agrees Tottenham terms, Atalanta resist

La Dea has reportedly demanded €55m to sell the former Juventus and Genoa defender, while Tottenham offered €40m plus bonuses, according to TyC Sports in Argentina.

However, a deal seems to be close as Atalanta are already considering possible replacements for the 23-year-old who moved to Bergamo from Juventus a year ago on an initial two-year loan with an obligation to buy for €16m.

If Romero moves to North London, another defender could join Atalanta from Juventus as Merih Demiral is one of La Dea’s targets to replace their highly-rated the defender.

The Turkey international wants to leave Turin to get regular playing time, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lille’s Sven Botman is also on the Nerazzurri’s radars.

The pink paper also reports Atalanta rejected Manchester United’s €45m bid for Romero last month.
