Sergio Romero has confirmed that he will meet with Sampdoria to ‘find a solution’ and that ‘in January or June’ he will look to leave.

The goalkeeper is down the pecking order once more at the Blucerchiati, having failed to find another club during the summer.

Even as he continues to be called up by Argentina, the 27-year-old has admitted that he needs to find regular club football again.

“I want continuity, this is what I am looking for,” Romero has told La Red this week.

Even as he continues to be called up by Argentina, the 27-year-old has admitted that he needs to find regular club football again.

“I want continuity, this is what I am looking for,” Romero has told La Red this week.

“I have to meet with my club to find a solution, although I am very happy that Tata Martino selected me for the friendly with Germany, and for these two games.

“I hope for a change in my situation, and either in January or June I will try to find a way out.”

Romero was linked with a late summer switch to Manchester United – he recently denied that this broke down due to his position in negotiations.
