Cristian Romero and Juventus defender Merih Demiral are expected to have their medicals with Tottenham Hotspur and Atalanta respectively within 48 hours.
The domino effect is in full swing, as Romero’s switch to Spurs will find him replaced in Bergamo by Demiral.
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Argentina international Romero is likely to be in London for his medical within the next 48 hours.
That deal was finally struck for €55m including performance-related bonuses, almost tripling the sum Atalanta paid to get the centre-back from Juventus a year ago.
At the same time, Turkey international defender Demiral was not at the Juventus training session today, suggesting he too is on his way for the transfer to Atalanta.
That is expected to be a loan with option to buy at the end of the season for €25-30m.
Juve can then use the profits to increase their bid for Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli.

Romero pushed a lot as he only wanted Tottenham. Barça, never in the race. Caleta-Car for Spurs, fake news. 🔴
