The Granata have lost their patience, and after weeks of uncertainty and time-buying by the player, they have decided not to pursue the transfer any longer.
Tuttosport reports that Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, himself a great admirer of Ljajic, has personally asked his club to strike the Roma player off the list of the club's targets. The option to move to Celta Vigo also appears to be extinguished.
According to Il Messaggero, however, Ljajic is acting with a purpose, as he is expecting a call from Milan.
Vincenzo Montella's team need to sell at least one of their strikers before they can buy anyone, but the transfer may happen later on in the summer.
