Roma’s injury crisis continues as Nicolò Zaniolo is likely to miss the upcoming Serie A clash with Verona due to a quadriceps injury.
Il Corriere dello Sport and Calciomercato.com report that the Italy international will ‘almost surely’ miss tomorrow’s game against Igor Tudor’s side because of a muscle injury. Zaniolo, 22, has scored two goals in 20 Serie A appearances this term.
José Mourinho is already short of options in attack, as both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eldor Shomurodov have been ruled out of the match. As per Calciomercato.com, Carles Perez is also in doubt for the game at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Portuguese coach must also cope without the centre-backs Roger Ibanez (injured) and Gianluca Mancini (suspended). Mourinho will provide the latest team news at a pre-match press conference today at 14.30 UK time.
The Giallorossi have collected 40 points in 25 Serie A games this term, managing eight in the last five league matches. They are six points off fourth-placed Juventus.
