Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante is at risk of being handed a one-match ban after allegedly blaspheming in the draw with Juventus.

The Giallorossi were hungry for victory in their clash with Massimiliano Allegri’s side at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday but were forced to settle for a draw after Gleison Bremer’s 31st minute strike matched Romelu Lukaku’s early opener.

In the 75th minute of the match, Cristante was heard allegedly blaspheming in response to an on-pitch decision, a move that could lead to a suspension. In Italy, certain blasphemes are considered to be some of the worst swear words.

Calciomercato.com highlights how Cristante could be handed a one-match suspension depending on if the FIGC prosecutor’s office decides to pursue action based off on audio and video recordings from Roma’s draw with Juventus. He could be forced to miss the coming clash with Atalanta.

The Giallorossi midfielder has already been punished for blaspheming once before, missing out on a game against Torino in the 2020-21 season after uttering the contentious phrase in a win over Bologna the previous weekend.
