The centre-back was a surprise absence from the list of names released by interim Azzurri boss Gigi Di Biagio for matches against England and Argentina.
There is nothing untoward, as Milan had simply informed the Nazionale staff that Romagnoli had a muscular problem and would require rest.
He is also left out of the Rossoneri squad to take on Chievo tomorrow at San Siro.
