Roma are in negotiations to extend their contract with defender Gianluca Mancini, which currently runs to June 2024.

According to Calciomercato.com, his agent has been in talks for a few months already with director Tiago Pinto.

The Giallorossi are determined to sort situations out much earlier than in the past, to avoid leaving Lorenzo Pellegrini to the last few months of his deal.

Mancini currently earns €2m per season and the new contract would increase his salary.

The proposed terms would run to June 2026.

The 25-year-old was signed from Atalanta in 2019 for a total €21m plus bonuses.

He has made 10 competitive appearances so far this season for Roma, scoring one goal in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
