Roma win first ever Women’s Serie A title

Roma have won the Women’s Serie A title for the first time in their history, ending the run of five consecutive Scudetti for Juventus.

The Giallorosse could also still make it the Treble, as they face Juve in the Coppa Italia Final on June 4, having already won the Supercoppa Italiana in November.

It was a dominant performance from Roma Women, who won 21 out of their 23 Serie A games so far this season, scoring 62 and conceding only 18.

Today’s victory over Fiorentina proved crucial, with over 2,700 fans at the Tre Fontane to cheer on the team.

Roma Women was only founded five years ago and has already been able to break Juve’s iron grip on the movement in Italy.

This is also a landmark, as 2022-23 is the first season in which the Serie A Femminile has been considered a professional football tournament, with 10 teams in the top flight.
