The Stadio Olimpico will host a huge match on Sunday and these Roma vs. Spezia predictions suggest that it will be an intense affair between two sides desperate for the points – for very different reasons.

Roma vs. Spezia odds

1 – Roma to win – 21/20

2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 1/1

3 – Both teams to score – 4/5

4 – Andrea Belotti to score at anytime – 12/5

5 – Roma to score over 1.5 goals – 11/10

After the heartbreak of defeat in the Europa League final on Wednesday, Roma must rally once more to secure a berth in the same competition next season. With Juventus just a point behind in the table, Jose Mourinho will know that his side need to beat Spezia on Sunday to make sure of their place.

It will be a tired group of players that take to the Stadio Olimpico pitch at the weekend though, thanks to the gruelling final that went all the way to a penalty shoot-out. Roma should have the talent to claim all three points but fatigue could play its part too.

There could also be a number of changes to the starting XI because of injury. Paulo Dybala was supposedly only good for 20 minutes in the week, according to Mourinho. But he played almost 70 and may be rested here. That might allow someone like Andrea Belotti to have the best chance of finding the net.

Spezia still have everything to play for as well though. They sit just above the relegation zone going into the final day of the season – but only on a head-to-head basis with Verona. If the two sides remain level on points after Sunday evening, they will face each other in a relegation play-off.

Obviously, Leonardo Semplici would rather not have to prepare for that outcome and will be hoping that his side can perform one last time in Rome. But the 4-0 home defeat to Torino last weekend does not suggest that they have much of a chance.

Roma haven’t won a Serie A game since the middle of April, as attention switched to the Europa League. But now that competition is over, it would be more likely that the home side prevails this weekend. There could be a few goals though.
