It might be strange to see the home side below Sunday’s visitors in the Serie A table but these Roma vs. Monza predictions suggest that it will be the Giallorossi who are happier this weekend.

Roma vs. Monza odds

1 – Roma to win – 7/10

2 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 17/20

3 – Both teams not to score – 10/11

4 – Romelu Lukaku to score anytime – 6/5

5 – Roma to win 1-0 – 6/1

It has not been the best of starts for Roma this season, with just one win in their first five games. But the Giallorossi had started to turn things around just before the international break and will now be looking to carry on where they left off at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday against Monza.

Jose Mourinho’s side recorded an impressive 4-1 win away at struggling Cagliari in their most recent match and will now be keen to extend the winning streak to three. It won’t be easy against a determined Monza but a narrow victory could be on the cards.

It could well be Romelu Lukaku who plays a decisive part this weekend. He has really taken to the Italian capital and is the club’s top scorer this season. We back him to score at any time on Sunday – and it might be the only goal of the game.

Monza have exceeded expectations once again after surprising everyone by finishing well above the relegation places in their first-ever top-flight campaign last season. Although it is very early days, the Biancorossi sit just below the European spots going into this game and are playing well.

It could be argued that the fixture list has been kind to Raffaele Palladino’s side though, and getting anything from this one could be asking a little too much. Roma don’t tend to score many goals but Monza could struggle to find the net themselves here.

But, with another stretch of easier games after this one for Monza, the overachieving club might consolidate their position in the league and set themselves up nicely for another stress-free end to the campaign once again.

Roma team news

Jose Mourinho is still having to deal with a lengthy injury list that is seriously affecting his ability to put out a recognised back three. Bryan Cristante will probably have to fill in yet again. Paulo Dybala could also miss this one, meaning that Andre Belotti partners Romelu Lukaku up front.

Monza team news

Raffaele Palladino will see little need to change his Monza side around after some successful results before the international break. He will be without long-term injury casualty Gianluca Caprari though, who is likely to miss the rest of the season.
