Jose Mourinho will be back on the sidelines for this one and these Roma vs. Lecce predictions suggest that he could oversee a much-needed win for the Giallorossi.

Roma vs. Lecce odds

1 – Roma to win – 3/5

2 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 7/10

3 – Both teams not to score – 4/6

4 – Romelu Lukaku to score anytime – 7/5

5 – 2-0 at full-time – 11/2

It has been a frustrating season so far for Roma. Jose Mourinho is well used to feeling everything is against him but his side have suffered a lot from injuries in this campaign. That has caused disruption, as well as Mourinho’s absence from the bench, but a home win could be on the cards this weekend.

The Giallorossi should have enough talent fit and able to claim all three points against Lecce and get back on track to challenge for a top-four finish this season. If anyone is likely to fire them into the Champions League, it will be Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgium striker has fitted in immediately at the Stadio Olimpico and has scored a number of important goals already. He was largely absent against Inter, while the Nerazzurri faithful whistled his every touch, but he is a good choice to find the net against Lecce.

The Salentini have fallen away in recent months, after a great start that saw the club as high as third at the end of September. But five winless games – including a 1-0 defeat at home to Torino last weekend – have seen Lecce drop back down the table.

Roberto D’Aversa’s side will always try to play attacking football but that may give Roma the opportunity to break on the counter on Sunday and give the home fans something to shout about.

Roma vs. Lecce line-ups

Roma (3-5-2): Patricio; Mancini, Ndicka, Llorente; Karsdorp, Cristante, Bove, Aouar, Spinazzola; Lukaku, El Shaarawy

Lecce (4-3-3): Falcone; Gendrey, Pongračić, Baschirotto, Gallo; González, Ramadani, Rafia; Strefezza, Krstović, Banda

Roma team news

Mourinho will be able to field a recognized defensive back three at least this Sunday. Bryan Cristante is able to play in the midfield, although Leandro Paredes is suspended. Paulo Dybala is back training but this one may come soon for him, so Stephen El Shaarawy, or possibly Andrea Belotti, will partner Romelu Lukaku up front.

Lecce team news

Roberto D’Aversa shouldn’t change his starting XI around too much for the trip to the capital. But he might be tempted to bring Gabriel Strefezza back in to help top scorer Nikola Krstović grab what would be an all-important goal.
