It is the Derby della Capitale on Sunday evening and these Roma vs. Lazio predictions favour the Giallorossi as both teams deal with a number of key absences.

Roma vs. Lazio odds

1 – Roma to win – 1/1

2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 10/11

3 – Both teams to score – 7/10

4 – Andrea Belotti to score at any time  – 13/8

5 – Roma to win and BTTS – 3/1

Both managers have been dealt with a number of injuries and suspensions for key players this weekend. But the first Eternal Derby of the season promises to be an exhilarating game between two Roman clubs that are enjoying a very good season so far.

Roma have continued to improve under Jose Mourinho and he will be keen to show that he is the main man in the capital city. The Giallorossi did well to battle through to a 3-1 win in Verona last week and have only lost three games in the league all season.

Tammy Abraham missed a sitter in that most recent game though and Mourinho will be wondering why the Englishman is having such a frustrating season after starring for Roma last year. Andrea Belotti should see some pitch action at some point and can be counted on to find the net at some point.

Lazio will be without both Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinković-Savić on Sunday though. Immobile’s injury is going to keep him out of the team until after the World Cup, but a very harsh yellow card for Milinković-Savić last week against Salernitana means that the inspirational Serbian will also miss out.

That could make a lot of difference to Lazio’s chances of getting one over their bitter city rivals. Those two players have been instrumental to the Biancocelesti’s performances this season and they will be sorely missed in the intense atmosphere of the Roman derby.

Lazio have scored more goals than most in Serie A this season though, so there should be a chance of both teams finding the net. But, even with Roma’s injury crisis, the three points should go to the Giallorossi this weekend.

Roma team news

Jose Mourinho may consider dropping Tammy Abraham after some disappointing performances. But the England striker should get another chance – with Andrea Belotti waiting patiently on the bench. Nicolò Zaniolo will miss this one though, as will the suspended Gianluca Mancini.

Lazio team news

Maurizio Sarri is forced to put out a second-choice attacking unit, with both Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinković-Savić unavailable. Felipe Anderson could be employed as a false nine again, with Pedro and Mattia Zaccagni making up the rest of the Lazio front line.
