Roma ultras have raised a banner outside the headquarters of the Italian Football Federation, complaining about unfair treatment.

The latest officiating issue to upset the Giallorossi fans came in the painful goalless draw against Genoa on Saturday, when Nicolo Zaniolo’s last minute winner was chalked off following a VAR check after an accidental Tammy Abraham foul was spotted in the build-up. Zaniolo was then sent off for dissent following his frustrated reaction, further igniting controversy.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, some Roma ultras held up a banner in Via Allegri, where the FIGC headquarters are located, to express their frustration towards the standards of refereeing this season.

The banner reads: “The regulations are the same for everyone but we are not all equal before the regulations. Enough now clowns!”

Many Roma fans feels as if they’ve been on the end of more poor refereeing decisions this season than their counterparts, although it’s likely that most fanbases in Serie A feels this way to some extent. The introduction of VAR has done little to change the frustration with officials, and it may have even exacerbated the issue.
