The authorities announced they have identified and banned four Roma fans responsible for offensive banners against Napoli.

There were multiple signs held up during the game targeting Antonella Leardi, the mother of murdered Napoli supporter Ciro Esposito.

They accused her of trying to earn money and fame from the death of her son, who was shot by a Roma ultra.

“We have identified four Giallorossi ultras, considered responsible for showing the banners against Ciro Esposito’s mother during Roma-Napoli on April 4,” announced Minister for the Interior Angelino Alfano.

“They will be given Daspo bans based on the law I strongly backed and which imposed new rules on sporting events.”

However, there were considerably more than just four fans involved, as there were several banners held up by an entire row of people in the Curva Sud.

The Curva Sud was closed down as punishment for tomorrow’s game with Atalanta, though that has been partially reduced now to include only the central section.

The four ultras punished are aged between 22 and 28, while one has previous convictions for robbery.
