Matias Viña will land in Italy today to finalise a permanent move to Roma from Palmeiras.

The 23-year-old is set to complete an €11m transfer plus up to €2.5m in various bonuses.

Roma have identified him as a replacement for Leonardo Spinazzola, who will remain out of action for six months with an Achilles tendon injury.

The Uruguay international was supposed to land in Italy earlier this week, but it took a little longer than expected as the two clubs had not agreed to payment terms.

According to multiple sources in Italy, the Uruguay international is ready to fly to Rome and is expected to land in Italy this evening.

Sportitalia broke the news, followed by Sky Sport Italia and Il Corriere dello Sport.

Viña to join Roma: ‘A dream coming true’
