Indications are that whilst talks over the weekend saw Bayern and Roma continue to stall over an asking price for Benatia, that sporting director Walter Sabatini will fly out to Germany to close on a transfer in the coming days.
It is understood that the two clubs will close out an agreement very soon and that barring any surprises, Benatia will complete his transfer imminently after.
On from this becoming official, speculation has been of a move for Kosta Manolas of Olympiacos, and/or Marko Basa of Lille.
Reports today are that a move for either target will be made quickly, with the aim of registering the player in time to face Fiorentina this coming weekend.
Rudi Garcia is light in the centre of defence for the visit of La Viola on Saturday evening, currently with only Leandro Castan as a recognised centre-back available.
Il Messaggero suggest Sabatini has been given 48 hours to resolve Roma’s defensive set-up this week.
