Roma could bring back Ricky Massara from Milan to replace Gianluca Petrachi as their sporting director, it is claimed.
Tuttomercatoweb reports Petrachi and the rest of Roma’s board are fighting for their futures after the club posted huge debts.
His position was considered insecure even before the coronavirus pandemic, owing to his failure to bring down the side’s wage bill sufficiently.

His position was considered insecure even before the coronavirus pandemic, owing to his failure to bring down the side’s wage bill sufficiently.
With that in mind, the website writes the Giallorossi are thinking about returning the reins to Massara.
The former Palermo striker only moved to Milan last summer, joining forces with Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban in a new-look management structure.
However, he faces being increasingly marginalised by Ralf Rangnick and his German revolution, whereas he knows Roma President James Pallotta well.
A protégé of Walter Sabatini, Massara was Roma’s sporting director during the 2016-17 campaign and filled the role on an interim basis after Monchi’s exit last season.
