Robin Olsen’s agent blamed Roma for the collapse of his Montpellier move and accused them of failing to support a goalkeeper who was ‘among Europe’s best’.
Olsen appeared all set for Montpellier, but negotiations fell through and the French side ended up signing Geronimo Rulli from Real Sociedad.
That has left Olsen in an awkward position as he goes into the new season as Roma’s third choice, behind new boy Pau Lopez and Antonio Mirante.
“First of all, I never met Roma,” Hasan Cetinkaya told Aftonbladet.

“First of all, I never met Roma,” Hasan Cetinkaya told Aftonbladet.
“I’ve never talked to anyone, not even about his salary. Roma handled the deal through intermediaries, and it broke down because of them. They asked for too much commission.
“Unfortunately that’s how it works in Italy. The only thing I said to Roma was that, in the event of a sale, he shouldn’t have lost a single penny of his salary.
“He was very affected by the exits of Di Francesco and Monchi. In the first part of the season he was among the best goalkeepers in Europe, then he made some mistakes and was blamed a bit.
“The new Coach and sporting director want to set an example by signing other players. That’s not only affected Robin but others too.
“Now it’s important to find him a team where he can play as a starter. Otherwise, he has a four-year contract with Roma.”
