Roma intend to ask the Italian Football Federation for clarification following Milena Bertolini’s comments that Nicolo Zaniolo ‘should be educated’.

The coach of the Italian women’s national team was discussing the 22-year-old Italian forward’s red card near the end of the 0-0 draw with Genoa on the television show 90° minuto, and she commented that Zaniolo “should be educated and helped”.

This has caused significant controversy, and as reported by Calciomercato.com, Roma intend to ask the FIGC for clarification as to why one of their members made irrelevant statements to the media.

Furthermore, according to Roma, this is not the first time that members of the FIGC’s technical staff have made unwelcome remarks; the Giallorossi stress that last week Professor Andrea Ferretti made unwanted comments about Leonardo Spinazzola.

Zaniolo was sent off in the 95th minute of the match against the Rossoblu for dissent, complaining to the referee about his disallowed goal. The player’s agent responded to Bertolini’s comments, hitting back at the suggestions that he needs education.

  1. I’m a Roma fan, but I agree that zaniolo should be educated. He doesn’t play anything since the injury. He only complains.
