Jose Mourinho has been asking for a new member of the directorial team at Roma and it is reported the club is targeting current Monza chief Francois Modesto.

The Special One has long felt that it is not fair he has to handle so many elements of running both the training and the communication with the media, especially when it tends to bring him bans in Serie A and UEFA competitions.

The plan is not to replace current director general Tiago Pinto, but to create a new position of technical director.

According to Cronache di Spogliatoio, Roma are targeting current Monza director Modesto for the role.

He is no stranger to Serie A, having played as a defender at Cagliari for five years from 1999 to 2004.

Above all, the 45-year-old already worked with new Roma CEO Lina Souloukou at Olympiacos, where he was sporting director and then head of scouting.

There was also a spell in England with Nottingham Forest from 2019 to 2022 before taking on the job at Monza.
