Roma have already reportedly agreed personal terms with Houssem Aouar and are now turning their focus towards free agents Evan N’Dicka and Youri Tielemans.
The Giallorossi won the Conference League last season and are now in the Europa League Final against Sevilla, to be played on May 31 in Budapest.
However, they signed a very harsh settlement agreement with UEFA that runs to 2027, forcing them to cut costs even further to stay within the Financial Fair Play limitations.
This is why director of sport Tiago Pinto is spending the summer looking for free agents to help bolster Jose Mourinho’s squad.
Multiple sources in Italy are confident he already agreed personal terms with Aouar, who will be out of contract with Olympique Lyonnais at the end of the season.
The agents of Eintracht Frankfurt defender N’Dicka posted a picture of themselves with Mourinho at the Roma training ground earlier this month on Instagram, effectively confirming negotiations are in progress.
Now La Gazzetta dello Sport claim Roma are also in talks with Leicester City midfielder Tielemans, who will be a free agent when his contract expires on June 30.
The 26-year-old was purchased from Monaco for €45m in the summer of 2019 and made 35 competitive appearances this season for Leicester, contributing four goals and one assist.
Roma face competition from PSG, but hope to offer him more regular playing time and potentially Champions League football too.
The versatility of the Belgium international is appreciated by the Giallorossi, as he can play in front of the defence or as a more advanced creative midfielder behind the strikers.
