Roma celebrated coach Jose Mourinho’s birthday by ambushing him with cake in the locker room, while Sergio Oliveira had a very special gift.
The Special One turns 59 today and was greeted at the Trigoria training camp by the squad with a cake – naturally in red and yellow Roma colours – and two bottles of bubbly.
He blew out the candles and gave the first slice to captain Lorenzo Pellegrini before declaring: “Let’s get to work.”
It was not, of course, a work meeting, but then lockdown rules do not forbid birthday gatherings around a cake in Rome at this time.
There was even a particular throwback gift from new signing Sergio Oliveira, who published a picture on social media of his first meeting with Mourinho, when he was a child getting an autograph.
