Roma are seemingly on the cusp of an injury crisis as talented winger Nicola Zalewski is the latest to suffer from physical issues.

The Giallorossi already have five players unavailable due to injuries, ranging from minor muscle concerns like Nicolo Zaniolo to Georginio Wijnaldum’s broken leg, and now things are looking a little more worrying in the Italian capital.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Zalewski has suffered a left flexor injury, ruling him out of Roma’s upcoming match against Empoli. Leonardo Spinazzola will therefore be given the green light to start on the left side.

The 20-year-old Italian has started the season fairly well under Jose Mourinho, appearing in all but one of the team’s games so far this season. A product of the club’s youth system, Zalewski has provided three assists across his 31 first team appearances.

Joining Zalewski on the sidelines are Zaniolo, Wijnaldum, Stephan El Shaarawy, Ebrima Darboe and Marash Kumbulla.

  1. Let’s consider we will have a tough start. We have to hang on and try our best, fatigue will be visible.
When we have our complete squad back, then we can certainly push stronger again.
Top 4 finish and UEL are still our target.
    Forza Roma
