There is still no breakthrough in negotiations with Tammy Abraham, so Roma have set a deadline before walking away from the Chelsea striker, as he still wants Arsenal.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Giallorossi had hoped to get an answer by this evening, but that doesn’t seem to be happening.

Instead, director of sport Tiago Pinto will remain in London until tomorrow, but the deadline is set now that without a firm answer by Saturday night, they will look elsewhere.

Roma have already agreed a €40m deal with Chelsea, to be paid over several instalments, so the only remaining issue is convincing Abraham.

Jose Mourinho even called the striker personally to talk him into the transfer.

Abraham turns 24 in October and his family are Arsenal fans, which is also why he is sorely tempted by a proposal from the Gunners.

That would also allow him to remain in London rather than go abroad to a new league where he doesn’t speak the language.

He already has six senior caps for England, and one goal, but had relatively little playing time at Chelsea last season.

Roma are also said to be frustrated that Chelsea have called Abraham up for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace, as that too could distract the forward and delay his answer.

3 thought on “Roma still waiting for Abraham answer”
  1. Good god Roma, have some pride for cripes sake. He doesnt want to play for you so move on. This is becoming seriously embarrassing to the club….begging, pleading…really?

  2. Yeah Roma stop waiting and hoping for the player who doesn’t want to play for the club. AS Roma is big club, it is no worthy to wait for such player. Let him choose Arsenal and wish him good luck. Focus on Andrea Belotti or someone else for striker.
