Massimiliano Allegri insists that Roma will challenge his Juventus side all the way for the Scudetto, despite a seven point advantage.

The Bianconeri have moved clear of the Lupi in recent weeks, as Rudi Garcia’s men struggle for form, but the former Milan Coach warns the title race is far from over.

The Bianconeri have moved clear of the Lupi in recent weeks, as Rudi Garcia’s men struggle for form, but the former Milan Coach warns the title race is far from over.

“At the moment I hear and read that Juventus have won the Scudetto,” Allegri said in his Press conference ahead of tomorrow’s match with Milan.

“Juventus have absolutely not won the Scudetto. To win the League we want to get to 90 points, and we still need a lot of wins to get to 90 points.

“The road is very long, Roma are still fighting for the title and will be our number one challenger alongside Napoli, who can come from behind.

“Everything is open, we must calmly face the matches in front of us, but with determination and with the understanding that we haven’t achieved anything yet.

“So there are no certainties at the moment that Juventus have won the Scudetto, because in the League all that counts is the maths.

“There are still a lot of points needed to win the Scudetto, because with 50 points you don’t win the Scudetto or even make the Champions League.

“It all comes down to the numbers, we must be careful, focused and keep working.

“The numbers will tell us if we won the League, but that’s not important at the moment, we must keep our concentration and think about picking up points, because this kind of talk can detract from our final objective.

“Since the objectives we have are to win, or at least to be competitive to the end in the league, and in the Champions League and Coppa Italia, then we must have balance, strength and retain the knowledge that so far we haven’t achieved anything.

“The targets we have to hit are still so far away, because usually these are objectives for the end of the season.”
