According to La Repubblica newspaper, Paulo Dybala has been interviewed by Italy’s Guardia Di Finanza for a second time as part of the financial investigation on Juventus and the Roma striker risks a month’s ban.

The Argentinean striker was among the Juventus players who agreed to give up four months’ wages in 2020 during the peak of the COVID pandemic when it was still unclear if the season had resumed.

However, he and other players are suspected of receiving at least three months’ salary under the table, which goes against article 31 of the Code of Sporting Justice, stating players and clubs are not allowed to agree on compensation outside federal rules.

According to La Repubblica newspaper, Dybala was interviewed by Guardia Di Finanza in Rome this week. Officers travelled to the capital from Turin to hear the Argentinean for a second time.

Investigators believe Dybala received €3m as compensation after Juventus refused to extend his contract last year. Juventus included the same figure in their balance sheet among the ‘provision for risks.’

It is believed that Juventus owed the player €3.7m after the salary manoeuvre that the Turin Prosecutors are investigating.

If Dybala is found guilty of receiving payments under the table, he could be banned for at least one month.
